Inquest openings 

Inquest openings take place at 9am every Monday morning at Gwent Coroners Court. 

If there is a Bank Holiday, please read Tuesday morning (unless otherwise stated).

Inquests in writing (not heard in court)

Where cases appear to be uncontentious, an ‘inquest in writing’ is the preferred method of conclusion to avoid any further unnecessary distress to the bereaved.

If you wish to make any representations seeking an inquest hearing in court, these need to be submitted in writing or by email [email protected] by the above response date. 

The coroner will only consider representations that are different to the evidence already reviewed and/or deemed to be in the public interest.
